Conozcan a los anfitriones del iSolidario: Aldeas SOS

Este domingo 13 de diciembre, los niños de Aldeas Infantiles SOS serán los protagonistas y portadores de las ilusiones que llenarán de diversión y alegría el parque de atracciones Iguana Park. Sólo se es niño una vez y un día de diversión no se olvida nunca: esa es la razón del iSolidario, por la cual queremos todos juntos expresarles y transmitirles la alegría de navidad.

Esta ocasión les tocará a los niños huérfanos de esta institución, quienes disfrutarán de todas las sorpresas que la comunidad bloguera y twittera le extenderá a lo largo de toda una tarde repleta de emociones.

Resulta propicio conocer a quienes serán beneficiados con la unidad de todos nosotros, aquellos niños que recibirán todo el cariño en una de las mejores tardes de su vida.

¿Qué es Aldeas Infantiles SOS?

Aldeas Infantiles SOS es una organización internacional no gubernamental y sin fines de lucro, de carácter privado e independiente de toda orientación política o religiosa. Fue fundada en 1949 por el austríaco Hermann Gmeiner. Acá en el República Dominicana inició sus operaciones el 25 de septiembre de 1979 a raíz de las secuelas de los huracanes David y Federico, por parte de un grupo de 11 dominicanos solidarios a petición de la Primera Dama de la República y el cónsul de Austria en el país.

Su objetivo.

Consiste en ofrecer amparo a niños huérfanos y abandonados, respetando la raza, credo o nacionalidad, ofreciéndoles un hogar permanente así como también una preparación sólida para alcanzar una vida autónoma. Sus pilares pedagógicos están basados en 4 principios fundamentales: "La Madre", "Los Hermanos", "La Casa" y "La Aldea".

Cómo cuidan de los niños.

Cuidan de ellos agrupándolos con comunidades similares a familias. Cada niño recibe una madre SOS (una persona calificada para ello), la cual será su persona de referencia permanente. Ella vive en una casa familiar con los niños que le son confiados a su cuidado y les da amor y seguridad. La madre SOS es la responsable de la familia y tiene las mismas preocupaciones y alegrías que cualquier otra madre. Aproximadamente 9 niños y niñas de diferentes edades crecen juntos como hermanos y hermanas. Los hermanos de sangre no se separan, ellos viven juntos en la familia de Aldeas Infantiles SOS.

Actualmente en la Republica Dominicana, las Aldeas Infantiles SOS asiste a alrededor de 300 niños y niñas y más de 50 jóvenes, en seis proyectos:

  • Aldea Infantil SOS, Los Jardines del Norte.
  • Aldea Infantil SOS, Los Mina.
  • Aldea Infantil SOS, Santiago de los Caballeros.
  • Casas Juveniles:
    • Ensanche La Fe.
    • Costa Criolla.
    • Alma Rosa I.
    • Alma Rosa II.
  • Escuela Kindergarten y Primaria SOS Hermann Gmeiner, Los Mina.
  • Centro Medico SOS Hermann Gmeiner, Los Mina.
